The Barbara J. Brown Nursing Scholarship honors a lifetime of dedication to caring for others. Barbara J. Brown served her community as a nurse for nearly sixty years and was known for her compassion, reliability, and commitment to helping people beyond their medical needs.

This scholarship supports students who have chosen nursing as a career of service and who demonstrate the character and commitment required in the profession.

One recipient will receive a $1,000 educational award.

• Resident of North Carolina
   
• Enrolled in or accepted into a nursing program in North Carolina
   
• Pursuing an LPN, ADN, or BSN
   
• Minimum GPA of 2.5
   
• Starting or continuing classes in the upcoming term
